We are finally back from our visit to Pennsylvania.
It was a very challenging time, as my mom had some major complications following her surgery.
We found out that my mom is very allergic to anesthesia. She had an extremely adverse reaction
and ended up being in the hospital for ten days.
The last few weeks were very trying for all of us.
Papa, Big Bro, Little Bro, and I all did our best to be good little foot soldiers, but it was so beyond what we had anticipated, insofar as the level of care that she needs.
My mom, affectionately known as G, is now is in the care of very capable nurses who are coming to my parents' home daily to help her with her needs.
Through the grace of God, she is starting to do better and we will continue to pray that she will make a full recovery.
Thank you to all of you who prayed for her and for my family.
The kindness of others is one thing that I will always remember from this whole experience. People made meals, helped with various errands, and even offered free babysitting for my two sons, as sometimes, the job at hand was so overwhelming that I just needed a break.
I am so incredibly thankful that my dad has found some in home care nurses to carry the load and to help my mom as she recoops.
Although we were glad to be able to be there to help G, it is so wonderful to be back home.
Dear Hubby made the return trip great!
He was busy with all kinds of household projects while we were gone.
Will get back to blogging soon but just want to enjoy the remainder of the weekend with my family.
Thanks again for your prayers and please continue them, as she still has a long road ahead of her.
Welcome Back.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that your mom had such a rough time. She will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
