Family Fun in Chicago

Over our Thanksgiving break, our family flew to Chicago.

We had a nice time, especially getting to take in the sights, sounds, and foods of Chicago and the suburban area of Naperville.

Here are some photos of our trip, including some fun ones from the duPage Children's Museum in Naperville, Thanksgiving Day at our uncle's stepdaughter's home, fun at the Chicago Children's Museum at The Navy Pier, Downtown Chicago, and the Museum of Science + Industry Chicago.  Uncle and his step-granddaughter are in some of the photos, too, along with Dear Hubby (a.k.a. Daddy), Big Bro, Little Bro, and me.

Once again, we are so happy to have purchased the museum pass with the Association of Children's Museums reciprocal agreement,  as all three museums we visited were a part of the reciprocal agreement either with Glazer Children's Museum or else with G Wiz, another museum we belong to and enjoy.

We also got to see the Grands for part of the trip, as well as some of Dear Hubby's college buddies. Got to try some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, Portillo's Italian beef, and El Burrito's Grande Burritos. Daddy was so happy to see his old buddies, to show us around Chicago,  and to get to spend some time hanging out at the museums with his family.
Uncle's stepdaughter and her hubby put on a very nice Thanksgiving spread for all of us, too and the boys had a blast playing with her daughter and their puppies.

The highlight for the boys was the awesome Skyline Exhibit at The Chicago Children's Museum.

Big Bro and Little Bro liked it so much that they have put in a request for their own version of this exhibit for their Christmas present, which is a tall order, as it has not been created yet as a real building kit that parents can buy

So Dear Hubby is going to be busy this week trying to create a smaller scale version of the exhibit...what an awesome Daddy he is!!!

The highlight for me was getting to spend time with Dear Hubby and the boys, taking in all of the museums and seeing their excitement about the holiday season.  Feeling the cold, crisp air, seeing all of the holiday decorations, getting to check out Penzey's Spice store, and seeing the beautiful Christmas trees from around the world at MSCI Chicago was pretty awesome, too...

All in all, a fun time!
