Well, I guess when you do a variety of practical life activities in your home every day, and when you encourage your children to be independent, to take care of their grooming needs, and then, you couple that with letting them have lots of practice using scissors, it should not come as a huge surprise that a child would come up with the idea of being a barber and having their own barber shop, right?
Little Bro very carefully cut his hair yesterday.
In fairness to him, he had tried to cut it pretty straight. He used a water spray bottle, "just like the one they use on me", a brush, and some scissors.
Early yesterday evening, as Dear Hubby was in the kitchen making some stir-fry for our dinner, and as I was laying down with a horrible sinus headache, Little Bro and Big Bro were playing.
Little Bro cut his hair right in front of Big Bro.
When Dear Hubby went in to check on the boys, he found that Little Bro had just finished up with his new do.
Dear Hubby was dumbfounded, as he had never played barber as a kid.
Luckily, with some hair gel, I think that we will be able to fix the situation until his bangs grow a bit.
We had to take a somewhat serious stand on this, because we don't want him to cut his hair again, but it was something to see that he had tried to do it with such precision.
Little Bro actually comes from a long line of hair stylist wanna-bes...
I cut a lovely inverted V shape from the back of my hair and had to get a short haircut to "even it out".
My sis put her hair up in a ponytail and cut her ponytail off.
My brothers played barber with cutting their hair and attempting shaving. My one brother actually shaved off half of his eyebrow.
Well, luckily for us, if the hair gel doesn't work, 'Tis the Season for hats!!!
