U.S. Blood Supply at Dangerously Low Levels: Red Cross
This hits close to home, as both Little Bro and I have an inherited blood disorder called Von Willebrand's Disease.
Our blood is very low in VWF Clotting Factor, Ristocetin, and Factor VIII.
What that means is that we could bleed to death if we do not get blood products if we have a bleed or if we have surgery.
That is part of what made my medical care complicated this year.
That is one of the reasons why I ended up going to Mayo Clinic for my care.
Thankfully, Mayo Clinic has excellent hematologists and also was able to access enough blood product for me to successfully have treatments and surgeries.
So a huge thanks to those healthy individuals who generously donated blood and blood products to the supply kept by the Mayo Clinic. You made a difference in my life!
Now, an appeal to you that qualify to give blood:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go and donate ASAP!
You will be making a difference in someone's life, like Little Bro's or mine...

You literally could be saving a life or lives!!!
