So Excited! Got My Local Lending Library Up and Running!

Well, this has been a dream of mine for almost a year now...to open a local materials lending library.

I had researched it a while ago...and then, I put the project on the back burner...but now, it has become not only a dream but a necessity* and now, will be a reality starting this Friday!

I had contacted a few lending libraries, but most of them were through universities.
There was a toy lending library in Pittsburgh...they were very helpful and kind in giving me their two cents...
and then, I had read and discussed with Jody from Mommy Moment about her town's French materials lending library, but I had not been able to find one nearby that would have been easy for me to go visit.

So, I am kind of winging this but think it is a go!

*As far as why it has become a necessity...well, Dear Hubby has been trying to work on his train set and the bins of our homeschooling materials are kind of eating away at his workspace. I have brought some of them inside, but now, our home looks clutter-y. I have some tolerance (well, not much, but a tiny bit) for clutter...but it would be sooooooooooo much better to go back to having our home and garage neat.

Neatness to me equals peace. Clutter equals chaos.

Do you ever watch the shows on TLC about Hoarders?

I watch them...I don't really know why, as they literally make me feel ill, but to me, watching those shows is like being in high school anatomy and physiology class...gross, but interesting and worth investigating.

It makes me feel physically uneasy to see how crazy their homes are and the deplorable conditions these families are in, but yet, somehow, it reminds me of the need to work on continually reducing the amount of clutter / excess / waste in our home.

I love the feeling of peace and calm so the folks that are borrowing the materials are doing us a service, too.

I have opened it to members of my local homeschooling co-op.

Will have to keep you posted, in case any of you readers would like to do something similar in your town.

Ohthisis fabulous, well done. I have been wanting to do something like that for the past year or so.

I have an abundance of materials and we can never use all of thet allof the time. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out for you.
