Let's Light the White House Blue for Autism Awareness!

Jess, an awesome blogger mommy over at a diary of a mom and a regular contributor at Hopeful Parents, as well as an advocate for families dealing with Autism up close and personal, has written a fabulous letter to President Obama encouraging the White House to Light up Blue on April 2nd, in honor of Autism Awareness Day.

Here is a link to her wonderfully written letter.

Hope that all of my blog readers will please read her letter and add a comment in support of Autism Awareness.

She also has been trying to get in contact with Oprah to get her to feature Autism Awareness on her show and her new OWN channel...if anyone knows someone that is part of Oprah's staff that could get this to be a reality, please do.

Jess pours her heart and soul into writing her posts about the highs and lows of Autism.

I have a huge amount of respect for Jess and her family and look forward to reading her posts every day.

So many families have to deal with the challenges thrust at them because of Autism affecting them.

Being on the Autism Spectrum is something that has become more prevalent in the last few years and it is something that deserves to be in the spotlight and have support from the federal level here in the United States as well as the rest of the countries around the world.

Although Big Bro and Little Bro are not on the Autism Spectrum, we have many friends dealing with the huge, lifelong undertaking of Autism and wish to show them support. The boys have several friends through playgroups, in the neighborhood, and through co-ops who are on the Autism Spectrum.
We will have our blue lights shining outside our home, in the hopes that it will provoke a neighbor enough to ask why in the world our home is all decked out with blue lights on April 2nd.

Thank you for sharing! Jess is amazing! Her letter speaks for ALL of us living with autism.

There are new letters posted as well, and we are still asking for comments to show President Obama that he needs to Light It Up BLUE!
