Songs for the Oceans and the Continents

Well, during a break from watching the Olympics, I happened to read a post to a Montessori Yahoo Group I belong to that was discussing the oceans of the world.

We do a cute song for the oceans to the tune of Oh, My Darlin' Clementine...

Atlantic Ocean
Pacific Ocean
Indian Ocean
Southern Ocean
Arctic Ocean
All the O - O - Oceans

My sons point to the oceans as they sing the song.

We have discussed that some like to talk about the Atlantic in terms of North Atlantic and South Atlantic and the Pacific in terms of North Pacific and South Pacific, but that we use just Atlantic and Pacific.

Well, hope that this is helpful...

As a side note, we also do use the same tune from Oh, My Darlin' Clementine for the continents...

North America
South America
Asia
Africa
Antarctica
Australia
and Eur -r-r- rope!

I am not much of a singer so much of what we do ends up as piggy backs to the tunes I do know...
never seems to bother my sons...they seem to like the familiarity of the tune.

Happy Saturday!

Back to watch more of the Olympics!
