I love, love, love scavenger hunts, and so do my sons...
Our version of a scavenger hunt should hopefully appeal to everyone, whether you consider yourself to be: Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, Eclectic, classically schooled, homeschooled, immersion schooled, unschooled, free schooled, public or private schooled, umbrella schooled, virtual schooled, whatever...come one, come all!
Will say however that initially, I came up with the idea of doing this scavenger hunt with a group of awesome moms who just completed a continents swap, so it kind of is like a "culminating activity" for our swap...and then, I thought well...maybe it will be more fun if it's opened up to others, such as those of you who read my blog...so voila! Single people, or people without children, you are also most welcome to play...might just want to round up a niece or nephew or maybe see if any of your friends who have younger children would want to do this scavenger hunt with you as your team...or be a renegade and be your own team! Whatever suits you!
If you (and your family) want to do this scavenger hunt with us, here is what you have to do...
#1. Please let me know in the comments section of this post that you want to play, as well as your continent...I do not need more specific details other than your continent for this, but do need to know your continent...you will find out why when you see the list:)
# 2. If you want to play, you will have from when I post the list on Friday, July 23rd until Monday, July 26th to find the items on your list.
# 3. As you play, you will have to take some photos of you and your family finding the items, so to play, you will need at least the following:
A camera or cell phone that has a built in camera.
A notebook and some pencils or pens.
Internet access.
A sense of humor.
A sense of adventure.
Some creativity.
# 4. You can then choose to either post your findings for the scavenger hunt on your blog and then, link back to my blog so that I will know that you found your items. Or, if you don't want to do a post about this but you want to play, please leave me a comment and we will work something out so that you can still participate...
#5. If you do not have your own blog, but you want to participate, please let me know and we can come up with a Plan B for you...
The theme for this scavenger hunt is:
Continents...Sweet!
All participants will get a little something for their participation in this fun family activity:)
Gonna be so much fun!!!

Sure... I'm game. I'm not exactly sure what we're doing here, so I guess better pick the familiar North America for this one. Should be fun!
I'll play! Can I be Antarctica?
YAY! A scavenger hunt! We are leaving to go camping in the morning, and I'm not sure how much internet access we'll have, but I'm game in trying to get this accomplished while we are there!
My continent for the swap was North America, specifically the USA, but I can do either.
Looking forward to this!
Waw, very good game I think ...
Nice post
Regards
Hm, what did you come up with this time?
Of course I want to be part of it, but I do not have a blog - so - Plan B?
I guess North America would be the safest choice, but I will go for Europe, even though I have not the slightest clue what is this all about :)))
It sounds intriguing but I'm not sure what it is, so I'll hang around for more details. It sounds fun though! :)
We'll play along!
North America
We'd like to play! We'd like to have Australia....
hiya!
i would like to play please. i would like to say Great Britain but i know thats not a continent so can i say Europe?
Now that I've seen the hunt, I think I should probably switch from Antarctica to Asia....
Hummm....There's penguin steaks for Antarctica but as a vegan (and that pesky protected animal rule :) ) I'm not to hip on frying some up...of course there's algae to scrape from the ice...that seems more snack than meal...but I'm through doing frozen areas... It seems that no one has snatched Asia yet. But, you're Asia....
If you're not doing Asia I'll take it up. I'm making some Mediteranean foods tonight; tabouli, falafael, pita, hummus, dolmas...YUMMMMM! I'll find something for snacks...but I have to take a trip to Cincy...maybe tomorrow we can drive down.
Is it ok to do homemade? I'd be happy to include recipes and such...
