A Photo Tour of Our Trip to DC

Recently, Bern from Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas invited me to a neat summer blog hop,
Show Us Your Town
Well, we actually went back home to where we used to live in Virginia and then we made our way into DC. It was fun to go back and see our neighbors who were like surrogate grandparents to the boys when we lived there.
We showed the boys around our old neighborhood, and then, went up to DC and took in the sights and sounds there.
We also showed them around where Dear Hubby and I had lived before having kids.
Went to my old school where I taught, went to some favorite places where Dear Hubby and I used to like to go back when we were dating and newly married, and then, took in the sights and sounds of DC and Northern Virginia.
Here is a little photo tour of our time spent there, kind of in random order...
Having fun by the fountains near the Smithsonian.

Lego Exhibit inside the Museum of American History.

Sculpture outside the Air and Space Museum.

Inside view of the Air and Space Museum.

Big Bro and Little Bro by the Lincoln Memorial. Big Bro is trying to be seated like Honest Abe.

View of what should be the reflecting pond, but is a view of a construction site...the water was drained, so it looked odd to not see the reflection of the Washington Monument as you normally do...

Boys by the Washington Monument.

Boys blowing dandelions. Both Big Bro and Little Bro thought these were awesome, as we don't have them in Florida.

Boys with a good buddy of ours at the National Zoo.

Boys with our friend at the National Zoo.

Boys at the park near Reagan National Airport. You can watch planes take off and land, as well as look for walking sticks like Big Bro found:)

Boys by the Mall in front of The Capital.

Boys in front of stature near the Smithsonian.

Two big Star Wars fans (aka the boys) inside the Museum of American History.

Peeking into Julia Childs' kitchen in the Museum of American History.

Having more fun at the Air and Space Museum.

Getting ready for the day in DC
All in all, a great trip! Dear Hubby has some great shots of more of the sights from our trip, but these ones were the ones I took with my iPhone 4 and could easily add to this post.

Hope your enjoyed the photos!

This post was going to be linked up with Show Us Your Town, but am a little late in getting it linked this week, so might either link up next week. or who knows...but please be sure to go see the neat posts that were timely and are linked up to this neat blog hop! Fun posts to read!
