President's Day Fun!

 

Hope that everyone here in the U.S.A. had a happy President's Day!

We had a great day!

Big Bro & Little Bro both worked on various President's Day themed projects:

Big Bro did a book report about Abraham Lincoln.
Over the course of the last few days, he read three books about Abraham Lincoln:
Meet Abraham Lincoln by Barbara Cary, In their Own Words: Abraham Lincoln by George Sullivan, and If You Grew Up with Abraham Lincoln by Ann McGovern.
Although Big Bro enjoyed all three books, he ultimately chose to base his book report on Meet Abraham Lincoln by Barbara Cary.
He also created two collages, one for George Washington and one for Abe Lincoln.
Big Bro then included these in his lapbook about President's Day. 

Little Bro made hand puppets,  mini reports, and dot-to-dot sheets: one for George Washington and one for Abraham Lincoln. He then included these in his President's Day lapbook.
Little Bro also selected to play and build with Lincoln logs and built a little log cabin in honor of Abraham Lincoln.

 Both boys viewed the Brain Pop movies about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. They chose to do the online quizzes following each of the movies.
They then got to watch pre-selected video clips from You Tube to go with the theme of Presidents.

Here is a link to their favorite one that they watched. What is nice is that it specifically is about Presidents Lincoln and Washington.

Following all of this learning inside, the boys went to the park to spend time with Daddy, since he was off from work yesterday.
