Have a Very Happy Mother's Day!

While searching for something to sum up my feelings for my mom, I came across a neat poem on Poems Junction.

A woman by the name of Julie wrote and submitted the poem, so a big thanks to Julie, as her poem puts into words much of what I would want to put into a poem about my mom...big happy Mother's Day wishes to my mom. Love you, Mom!

Want to add that this poem could be equally about a relationship of Mother and Son, as Dear Hubby has a very close relationship with his mom and this could apply to them as well...
A big Happy Mother's Day to my Mother-in-Law, Harriet (known by Big Bro and Little Bro as Grandmom). We love you, too!

Hope that you all will enjoy this lovely poem...

Relationship of Mother and Daughter

You can see it in their eyes,
in tender hugs and long good-byes,
a love that only moms and daughters know.
You can see it in their smiles,
through passing years and changing styles,
a friendship that continually seems to grow.
You can see it in their lives,
the joy each one of them derives,
in just knowing that the other one is there…
To care and to understand,
lend an ear or hold a hand,
and to celebrate the memories they share.

To add to this poem, I would just say that my mom has taught me much about life...
The importance of having strong faith, and a close relationship with friends and family,  as well as trying to keep a sense of humor even in the face of difficult life circumstances.
I have found it very challenging to have much of a sense of humor this week, but one thing that was funny and lifted my spirits is something that my mom shared with me just before she was to go into surgery.
She said that her physical therapist, Johnny, who had been working with her from early November through December before she came down to Florida as a snowbird told her that she needed to work at visualizing something that would bring her a sense of pleasure and relaxation so that she would be able to be more relaxed and less in pain as she was doing the difficult exercises designed to strengthen her knee.
My mom has "known Johnny since he was a newborn baby" and is very good friends with Johnny's mom.
Johnny is in his late 30's but my mom has and always will call him Johnny, even though he probably stopped being Johnny back when he was about 5...
Johnny suggested to visualize something very relaxing, perhaps to think of being at a beach, and my mom said that she had already gone to a place in her mind that was very pleasurable and relaxing...a Snickers Farm!

Mmm...chocolate...

As she was lying there with a big blue hair net over her head, all strung up to oxygen and IV's, she took the time to tell me this funny story.
We then got to exchange I love you's  and then, they came to wheel her into surgery for her shoulder.
My mom has been a real trooper in the last few years with all that she has had to endure with so many health problems but despite being medically fragile, she has been able to draw upon an inner strength and has gotten through it all.
I look to her, as as now being in the role of caregiver to her, hope that I will remember to remember to keep a sense of humor and get through the bumps in the road.
Love you, mom!

Big Bro and Little Bro say they love you, G!

Having fun at the pool with G, just a few short days before her fall.
We are looking forward to when we can go back and float in the pool and play with G again soon.

The boys made some beautiful butterflies for G and for Grandmom too.
The boys will get to go visit my mom, G, tomorrow and will get to give her their butterflies in person.

We all love Dear Hubby's mom, Grandmom, too... and even though we won't see her tomorrow, we hope that she will like what will be delivered tomorrow, as well as what will be coming in the mail this coming week:)

Happy Mother's Day to all moms and grandmas out there!

That was beautiful Colleen. You and Tracey are the daughters I never had. My sons chose wisely and with love in their hearts.I couldn't have done better myself. Thank you for giving me the worlds best grandsons and making Tim a Dad. He is surprisingly good at the Dad and Husband thing. Hope your day is full of Love. Grandma
