Hanging out at Walt Disney World with the family. |
When you were a little kid, did you ever visit Walt Disney World?
Our family did. Have very fond memories of our trips to Florida to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World.
One of my First Visit Memories was getting to see Walt Disney's plans for the future at an attraction that I believe was part of Tomorrowland. My dad was right behind me in line. My younger sister, my younger brother, and my mom were in line with us. Remember the sense of awe about every aspect of that trip, but especially remember that Walt Disney predicted that in the future, we would interact more with our televisions and that one day, we would even be able to shop right from our t.v.s. I remember my dad bending down to my level and him saying Can you believe how creative Walt Disney is?!? He came up with all of this right out of his own head! What a brilliant man he must be!
From the time I was eight, I always admired Walt Disney for his amazing imagination. I always wondered if the things he had envisioned would come to fruition. Walt Disney was right up there with Santa Claus in my book.
To think of how technology has advanced and The Walt Disney Company's role in technology related to the entertainment, travel, and education industries is just awe inspiring!
Think that Walt Disney would have loved to see life in 2014 and to see students taking the various Disney Youth programs both at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland.
Today's program that I wish to share with you is The Evolution of Technology. It is perfect for gifted students, especially those with an interest in technology and space exploration, as it is aligned with NAGC's National Gifted Programming Standards. This exciting, hands-on Y.E.S. program is for students in grades Grades 6-12 and is offered at #WDW in Florida.
Big Bro is almost old enough to attend this class and think that he would love it! Little Bro, on the other hand, will have to wait a few more years, but am sure that he would thoroughly enjoy this as well as he and Big Bro both love Test Track and Mission: SPACE®. They also love anything and everything to do with technology so it will be a great fit for them. If it works to bring our group of gifted Sunrise Learning Lab™ students in the future, this is a class that we would want to attend when all of our students are old enough to attend.
